Home displays elegant style

It could be easy to imagine one is living in the country in this elegant Ardross home, with views of parkland across the road from the kitchen and main living area. Built by Grand Viera Homes in Ardross, the home’s design was enhanced by Liane Kelly after the owners brought a plan to the company of the basic layout they wanted.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home sits over two levels on a corner bock.

A sleek, modern elevation in various tones of grey creates a commanding presence. The house is complemented by lush lawns edged by beds of low-maintenance, waterwise plants. Upon entering the foyer, there is a family room to the right past double doors.

Ms Kelly said the blackbutt floors, which run throughtout much of the house, were chosen because they add to the house’s warm, inviting atmosphere.

The house has plenty of storage, with a big cupboard under the stairs and more cupboards upstairs off the landing. Further along the hall is a powder room and a study. Double doors at the end of the hall open to the heart of the home, the spacious open-plan kitchen, living and dining. A sliding door from the living area opens to an alfresco area with a cedar-lined ceiling, ceiling fan and downlights. A contemporary water feature adds a tranquil ambience to the outdoor space.

The big kitchen has soft-closing drawers and lots of space to prepare meals. Stainless-steel appliances complement the grey cabinetry and off-white glass splashback. The laundry, off the kitchen, has access to the double garage and also access to the garden.

Ms Kelly said the house was designed with versatility in mind. “The house has two main suites,” she said. “All you have to do is choose whether you want to live up or down.”

The main suite on the ground floor has a walk-in robe and a flow-on ensuite with a CaesarStone benchtop to the twin vanity, a bath and shower. A door opens to the powder room, which also has access off the hall.

The upstairs main suit is similarly fitted out. It flows off the open-style living area on the landing and has views of the park from the balcony. It also has a walk-in robe and an ensuite with a twin vanity, shower and toilet.

There are two more bedrooms upstairs, both double-sized and with three-door built-in robes. These bedrooms share a bathroom with a bath, shower and vanity. There is also another powder room, a storeroom and another cupboard.

A feature nook to the landing creates a focal point.
